Darra Adam Khel lies on the road between Peshawar and Kohat, in Kohat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. For generations it has been known across Pakistan — and beyond — for one thing above all: making firearms.
A craft in families
Gunsmithing in Darra Adam Khel grew in small workshops, with skills passed from fathers to sons: filing and fitting parts by hand, finishing and engraving, and test-firing every piece. Visitors have long been struck by how much is done with simple tools and trained hands.
Copies, classics and customs
The town became famous for reproducing well-known designs. The TT-pattern .30 bore pistol is the best-known product, and local workshops also turn out rifles and shotguns. Engraving and custom finishes — the kind you see in our photographs — are a craft of their own.
Today
Darra Adam Khel is now a mix of workshops and dealers. Locally made firearms sit alongside imported models, and buyers come from across the country to compare them in person.
Buying here
Quality varies between makers, which is why seeing and handling a firearm before you buy matters. That is what our shop is for — and why we describe every firearm plainly, local or imported.
